Nation pays homage to Ambedkar

President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today led the nation in paying homage to Babsaheb Ambedkar on his 122nd birth anniversary.

Mukherjee, Ansari and Singh paid floral tributes at the statue of Ambedkar at the Parliament House lawns.

Leader of the House in Lok Sabha and Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha P J Kurien and Chairman of BJP Parliamentary Party L K Advani led the parliamentarians in paying floral tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution.

They paid their tributes in the Central Hall of the Parliament.

A booklet, containing the profile of Ambedkar, brought out by the Lok Sabha secretariat, was presented to the dignitaries who attended the function.
