Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj says receiving a National award is always special regardless of the film he has worked on.

Bhardwaj, 50, was today honoured at the 63rd National Awards for the best adapted screenplay for Meghna Gulzar's "Talvar".

This is Bhardwaj's second consecutive National award win. He won the best screenplay (dialogue) award last year for "Haider".

When asked if the win is special as it comes for a film like "Talvar", Bhardwaj told PTI, "National Award matters the most, it's not important just because I got for 'Talvar' but it is important if I get for any other film."

Starring Konkona Sensharma and Irrfan Khan, "Talvar" was based on the 2008 Noida double murder case.
