National Children's Science Congress concludes at Baramati

The five-day 24th National Children's Science Congress-2016, organised at Vidya Pratisthan's Institute of Information Technology at Baramati in the district, concluded today.

NCSC is a flagship programme of Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology.

The focal theme for this year's NCSC was 'Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development: With special emphasis on Accessibility for Persons with Disability.

Twenty-five of the 700 projects by 'child scientists' from India and ASEAN and Gulf countries exhibited at the Congress were awarded. The students who had put up these award-winning projects would be provided with training support.

Union Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javadekar, who was the chief guest at the valedictory function, said such events give exposure to quality research.
 

"Events such as NCSC give exposure to the quality research and I am glad that many institutes have acknowledged this as a motivating activity for young scientists," he said.

Founder of Vidya Pratishthan and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar said that young scientists are the backbone of tomorrow's modern and progressive scientific world.
