A package of classic Malayalam films to mark the 75th year of Malayalam talkies, besides award-winning films from other Indian languages will be screened at the sixth National Film Festival of Kerala, which will get underway at Kozhikode from October 14 to 18.
In the classic package, films including 'Neelakkuyil' (P Bhaskaran), 'Chemmeen' (Ramu Kariat), 'Bhargavi Nilayam' (A Vincent), 'Nirmalyam' (M T Vasudevan Nair), 'Thampu' (G Aravindan), 'Elippathayam' (Adoor Gopalakrishnan), 'Vanaprastham' (Shaji N Karun), 'Adithi' (K P Kumaran), 'Amma Ariyan' (John Abraham) and 'Irakal' (K G George) will be screened, sources at Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, organisers of the event, said.
Recent award-winning films including 'Shabdo' (Kaushik Ganguly), 'Chitrangada' (Rituparno Ghosh), 'Byari' (Suveeran), 'Deoul' (Umesh Kulkarni), 'Filmistan" (Nithin Kakkar) and 'Vazhakku Enn 18/9' (Balaji Shakthivel) will also be screened at the festival.
National award-winners from Malayalam will be honoured on the occasion and their films will be screened.
