National Law University, Odisha wins Moot court competition

The National Law University, Odisha won the Justice Dr B P Saraf National Moot Court competition held here Sunday.

Participants from 23 universities and colleges, including 14 national law universities, argued their cases before legal luminaries at the competition organised by All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (Eastern Zone) and The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences.

While the National Law University, Odisha emerged as the winners of the two-day competition, the Symbiosis Law School, Pune was the runners-up.

The Moot Court Competition was an endeavour to harness competence of law students, enhance their knowledge, expertise and skill sets for court litigation and in other spheres of legal profession.

 

Joint Secretary of AIFTP (EZ) Bhaskar Sinha Roy said, "Moot Competition is an integral part of the law study which helps students prepare for future court practices."

The participants from all over India argued there cases in front of various courts and got to learn the art of arguing in the courts.

The fourth edition of Justice Dr. B.P. Saraf National Moot Court Competition was attended by former Supreme Court judge Justice Tarun Chatterjee, former Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta among others.
