In a bid to lure tourists to visit the state during winters, a three-day National level Rafting Championship will be held from November 29 in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"A three-day National level Rafting Championship on river Chenab at Reasi would commence from November 29 in a bid to lure the tourists to visit of the state during winters", Minister for Tourism, Ghulam Ahmad Mir said in a press Conference here.
The minister said that the government endeavours to attract more tourists to visit the state in winter months and is going to organise several events in Kashmir and Jammu Divisions during the winter season.

"While steps have to be taken to encourage and promote conventional Tourism, Skiing, River rafting, Mountaineering, Mountain biking and other adventure tourism need to be properly showcased and encouraged in the state", he said.
A promotional campaign have been started to attract high-end tourists to visit the state, he said and hoped in coming season the state would witness a big boom.
The minister said that to add tourism activities in Jammu city, attention is being given to upgrade infrastructure and explore varied tourism potential.
He said besides development of Border Tourism in Sutchgarh, Golf Tourism is also developed in the city of temples.
He said development of artificial lake, besides beautification, is being done and added that the Mubarak Mandi Cable Car Project would be taken up soon at a cost of Rs 40 crore, as the Supreme Court has given a positive decision in this regard.
He said the government is also considering developing a water park in Jammu.
