National Lok Adalat set to settle record number of cases

National Lok Adalat is set to settle record number of cases in Mathura in its upcoming session on November 12.

"We are working on comprehensive planning that we had chalked out earlier to make the forthcoming National Lok Adalat a grand success by settling record number of cases on a single day," Ramesh Tewari, the district Judge of Mathura and President of District Legal Service Authority said.

The work has been allotted to Nodal officers, appointed by different departments.

"Not onlyNodal officers have been appointed in every department for speedy scrutiny and selection of the cases for National Lok Adalat, butthey have been asked to submit the list of the cases to Zila Vidhik Seva Pradhikaran(District Legal Service Authority) and ensure the reach of information to concerning parties," he said.
 

The nodal officers would motivate and brief the advantage ofthe participation in National Lok Adalat, as it would provide them immediate justice, without spending extra amount, he added.

"Briefing the nature of the cases to be settled," he said, "cases like succession, motor accident claim, marriage dispute, bank arrears, Insurance, consumer forum, revenue, Chakbandi, Medbandi (demarcation), cable net work, environmental pollution, distribution of salary of the teachers,ration card-BPL card, rent control dispute, Income - caste certificate etc which normally are time consuming ,are settled through mutual consensus within hours," he said.

According to secretary District Legal Service Authority Anil Kumar Yadav, since the target fixed by District Judge, this time for the National Lok Adalatis 50 per cent more than the cases settled in previous National Lok Adalat held in December, 2015, we have adopted various means to convey the programme to needy.

"Besides distribution of leaflets, installation of hoardingsthrough corner skits, we are also holding Vidhik Sakchharata Shivir (legal educating camp) at block level to convey the benefit of National Lok Adalat to rural lot with stress on their participation through motivation," Yadav added.
