National Lok Adalat settles around 30,000 pending cases

Besides, the parties were able to arrive at final settlements worth more than Rs 225 crore across the country

The National Lok Adalat, held in the high courts and other courts in the country on Saturday, settled around 30,000 pending cases.

The Lok Adalat, held by National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), cleared cases of Motor Accidents Claim Tribunal (MACT) and insurance claims, besides the matters of several other nature, both pre-litigation and pending cases.

According to a NALSA statement, more than 10,000 pre- litigation cases and more than 19,000 pending cases have been settled in 21 states till 5 pm.

Besides, the parties were able to arrive at final settlements worth more than Rs 225 crore across the country.
