National Lok Adalat to be held in Maha on April 9

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) along with National Legal Services Authority and Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority will hold National-Maha Lok Adalat on April 9 across the state.

It is being organised against the background of pendency of a large number of cases which many a times are put on the back burner on account of continuous flow of fresh matters requiring immediate or more urgent attention.

The maha Lok Adalat will be conducted in all courts right from High Court, its benches up to the taluka courts, a statement from DLSA issued here said.

During the hearing, matters pertaining to criminal compoundable cases, Negotiable Instrument Act Cases, motor accident claim petitions, Accident Information Report (AIR), state transport cases, matrimonial/family courts cases, labour disputes, land acquisition cases will be taken up, it said.
 

Besides, civil cases, cases of bank recovery, debt recovery tribunal, consumer disputes, revenue cases, NREGS, electricity and water bills, cases relating to sales tax, income tax, indirect tax and others will be put up for redressal.

In Nagpur, Principal District Judge Kishore K Sonawane and Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Kunal Jadhav will conduct the Lok Adalat.
