National Motorcycle ch'ship to begin from Friday

The championship will begin at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore from Friday.

In the One-Make championship, TVS will be introducing its brand new TVS Apache RTR 180 bikes. In the other two single make sections, Yamaha will be running YZF R15 Version 2 fitted with Daytona Race kits while Honda's CBF Stunner and CBR 150R.

"We have had a record number of entries for the season. It has touched a whopping 220 riders from across India," FMSCI president Vicky Chandhok said at a press conference.

"We are sure to see packed grids in all the races with entries received from as many as nine teams. More than 10 national champions will be seen in action alongside the many new faces," he added.

 

Meanwhile, Mohan Nagarajan, CEO, SIDVIN Core-Tech (I) Pvt. Ltd, the sponsors of the event said, "We see tremendous potential in the Motor cycle racing with more and more manufacturers setting up bases in the country and also showing tremendous interest in the sport. We look forward to take motorcycle racing in India to the next level this year." More
