Walkers Baljinder Singh, Bahadur Singh Rana, Gurmeet Singh and Irfan Kolathum Thodi, discus throwers Krishna Poonia and Seema Antil, triple jumpers Mayookha Johny and Renjit Maheswary, shot putter Om Prakash Karhana, marathoner Ram Singh Yadav, high jumper Sahana Kumari, Sudha Singh (300m steeplechase) and Tintu Luka (800m) are the athletes who have confirmed participation.
Tamil Nadu Athletic Association Secretary T K Rajendran said that the Olympians would be representing their states or their respective institutions where they are employed.
He said about 1000 athletes will be seen in action in the three-day championships.
Institutional teams would include Indian Bank, defending champions Railways, Services and Indian Police among others and the event is sponsored by leading Chennai-based educational institute Rajalakshmi Institutions.
