National Viklang Sports Centre would be established to encourage the sporting talents of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawar Chand Gehlot said today.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion of inaugurating a mega camp for free of cost distribution of Assistive Aids and Appliances for PwDs at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, the Minister lauded the blind cricket team of India, which won the World Cup for disabled in cricket recently.
"Disabled sports persons have secured gold and silver medals for India in the recently concluded sports events abroad. National Viklang Sports centre to encourage the sporting talent of disabled are being established," a statement here quoting Gehlot said.

A total of 1011 Persons with different kind of disabilities were provided 1663 numbers of various types of aids and assistive devices manufactured and distributed by ALIMCO valuing over Rs. 78 Lakh in the camp, the statement added.
Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar and Lok Sabha member from Mathura constituency Hema Malini also spoke on the occasion.
