Naveen flags off Odisha Himalayan expedition team

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today flagged off a 15-member Himalayan expedition of team here.

The Odisha government's sports and youth affairs department has launched the Biju Patnaik Himalaya Abhijan in association with Tata Steel Adventure Foundation as part of the Biju Patnaik's birth centenary celebrations.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik handed over flags and wished them luck for their expedition.

The mountaineering team comprising of nine men and six women would climb Mt Rudugaira (19,100 ft) during their mission.

The Odisha expedition team would be led by legendary mountaineer Padmashri Bachendri Pal along with Padmashir Premlata Agarwal.

As per the itinerary, the members would leave Bhubaneswar on a 15-day tour and return on October 7, sports minister Sudam Marndi said.
