Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Tuesday turned 72 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished him a long and healthy life.
"Best wishes to Odisha CM Shri Naveen Patnaik Ji on his birthday. Naveen Ji is one of Indias senior-most leaders who has been serving the people of Odisha for many years. May he lead a long and healthy life. @Naveen_Odisha," the prime minister said in his Twitter handle.
Patnaik had on Monday announced not to celebrate the birthday in view of the large-scale destruction and human casualties due to cyclone Titli and the subsequent flood.
In 2013 and 2014 also, Patnaik had not celebrated his birthdays due to cyclones 'Phailin' and 'Hudhud'.
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik also wished the chief minister on his birthday.
Internationally acclaimed sand sculptor Sudarshan Patnaik wished Naveen through his sand art. He posted the picture of his creation on Twitter.
