Terming rail fare hike as "anti-middle class" and "anti-poor", Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said this would further aggravate inflation.

"This is anti-middle class and anti-poor move of the Central government," Patnaik said while reacting over the hike in passenger fare and freight charges.

Stating that passenger fare hike across the board will affect passengers at large, Patnaik said this would more particularly hit the people travelling in sleeper class.

"Hike in freight charge will further aggravate inflation and lead to price rise affecting people at large," Patnaik said.
