Navodaya Vidyalaya Staff Asso. National meet begins in Hy'bad

The Sixth National Conference of All India Navodaya Vidyalaya Staff Association (AINVSA) began here today.

The two-day event was attended by 500 teaching and non-teaching staff from different Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across the country.

Minister of State (independent charge) for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, who paticipated in the inaugural session, assured the staff of all possible help in their demands like grant of pension, working hours, among others after they submitted a memorandum in this regard.

Appreciating the vidyalayas for joining 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' initiated by the Centre, he said ideas of Gandhi should inspire every Indian.

AINVSA General Secretary L B Reddy expressed his displeasure at the previous UPA government for not fulfilling the promise it made to the employees at the end of the ten-day strike (held in February last year) with regard to granting of CCS Pensions 1972 and other service related problems, a release said.
