An Indian Navy Chetak Helicopter on a routine sortie made a precautionary landing at a beach near Alappuzha today due to a technical snag, but there were no casualties.
The helicopter, which landed about 14 nautical mile south of Kochi at about 11:30 AM, did not suffer any damage, Navy sources said.
A Navy team from Kochi was dispatched to assist the crew and after rectification of the minor fault, the helicopter and the team returned to Kochi by 1:30 PM, they said.
All actions were carried out as per laid down procedures and there was no risk or danger to any civilian installation or population throughout the process,they added.
