A Division Bench comprising Justice V K Mohanan and Justice K Harilal issued the directive after Kalamassery Government Medical College Hospital authorities filed a report on his psychiatric evaluation, complying with the court's Oct 30 orders on a petition by the sailor's wife.
Alleging that her husband was being illegally kept in INS Sanjivini, a Naval hospital here, and efforts were being made to establish that he was suffering from mental illness, the petitioner, had wanted the treatment to be stopped immediately.

In its October 30 interim orders, the court had directed that the sailor be shifted to the government medical college hospital and asked the hospital authorities to examine him and file a report.
When the matter came up today, the Head of the Department of Psychiatry of the hospital filed psychiatric evaluation observation report stating that a proper evaluation was not possible within a short observation time.
The report stated that Sahu's allegations against senior officers can be a result of 'delusion'. The sailor also suffered from seizures, it was stated.
