Security forces today claimed to have busted a Naxal camp following an encounter with ultras in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh.

A woman Naxal, who was injured in the incident, was arrested, police said.

Eight muzzle-loading guns and three 315 bore guns were recovered from the site in the forest in the Kutul police station limits after a gun battle yesterday, Narayanpur Additional Superintendent of Police O P Sharma told PTI today.

Joint team of special task force of state police and district police force was carrying out combing operations in the jungles of Kutul, around 400 km away from Raipur, for the past two days.

Naxals opened indiscriminate firing following which the jawans retaliated, and the ultras fled the spot, Sharma said.

The injured woman Naxal was shifted to Raipur for treatment, he said.

Several Naxal cadres received bullet injuries but the others managed to take them along while fleeing under the cover of darkness, he said.
