Naxal carrying Rs 3 lakh bounty held in Chhattisgarh

A wanted Naxal, carrying a reward of Rs three lakh on his head for his alleged involvement in over 21 criminal cases, was arrested in Bijapur district today, police said.

"Padam Mangu, a member of Indravati National Park Area Committee of ultras, was nabbed from his native place Palnar village under Gangaloor police station limits," Bijapur Superintendent of Police, KL Dhruv told PTI.

Mangu had arrived at his village to carry out farming activities in the ongoing monsoon season,he said.

"He was wanted in as many as 21 cases of criminal offences, including loot, arson, murder and attacks on police party," the officer said, adding the Naxal was carrying a reward of Rs three lakh on his head.
 

He is interrogated by police, the officer added.
