Acting on a tip off, the police and the CRPF in a joint operation apprehended Nathuni Sah with a sophisticated pistol and nine rounds of ammunition, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Operation, Sanjay Kumar said.
Sah was wanted in connection with 11 cases of bank loot, murder, dacoity and Naxal-related violence in East Champaran and Sitamarhi districts, he said.
The arrested naxalite was a key conspirator in level collection for the ultras, Kumar said.
Sah's arrest came a day after the security forces had arrested a self-styled Naxal area-commander Chhabila Sahni alias Mushar Sahni from a hideout under Mufassil police station area in East Champaran district, Kumar said.
Sahni had disclosed about the whereabouts of Sah during interrogation.
