Bihar Director General of Police K S Dwivedi today said that naxalites have been confined to the forest areas of the state bordering Jharkhand and will soon be flushed out.

"Naxalites have been confined to the forest areas bordering the neighbouring state of Jharkhand. A special operation has been launched with the help of para military forces and the police of neighbouring states. They (naxalites) will soon be pushed out of these places," Dwivedi told reporters here.

Dwivedi was talking to reporters after holding a meeting of police officials of five districts of the Magadh range to review the crime graph in the area, including naxal-related incidents.

People are now engaged in cultivation on thousands of acres in the nearby areas, he added.
