Naxals kill farmer in Gadchiroli district

A 50-year-old farmer was hacked to death naxals in Godalwahi forest area in the district, police said today.

A gang of armed Maoists dragged Indarshah Parse out of his house in Ghodezari village in Dhanora taluka and took him to forest last evening, a press release by police department said.

Parse was killed with sharp-edged weapons, it said.

An offence has been registered in this regard with Dhanora police station and further investigations are on.

Police have intensified anti-naxal drive after the incident, the release said.

The motive behind Parse's murder is not known.
