Naxals today allegedly killed a tribal youth at a village in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district for being a 'police informer', police said.

The victim identified as Amrit Darro, a resident of Arra village under Amabeda police station limits, was killed with sharp-edged weapons at his native place, Kanker Deputy Superintendent of Police Jayant Vaishnav told PTI over phone.

As per preliminary information, a group of Naxals stormed into Arra village, located around 250 kms from here, and dragged the victim out of his house before killing him on the spot, the DSP said.

Soon after getting an alert, security forces were dispatched to the place to recover his body, he said, adding that the body is being brought for the post-mortem.

Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched in the region to nab the assailants, he added.
