Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla today kick started a two-day 'Naya Bharat Sankalp Yatra' from the historic Jallianwala Bagh here.

Sampla, along with SAD senior leader and MLA Bikramjit Singh Majithia and other senior BJP leaders paid tributes to martyrs at the memorial before launching the Yatra.

Addressing a gathering, he said the Modi-led government is determined to get the country rid of evils of corruption, poverty, terrorism, casteism and communalism and transform India into a progressive state.

"The Congress ruled the nation for decades and its policies ushered in an era of corruption, poverty, communalism and all sort of social evils. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to root out all these evils spread by the Congress," Sampla alleged.

The 'Naya Bharat Sankalp Yatra' is being carried out to spread the principles, vision and ideology of the prime minister among people of Punjab and the Yatra will end tomorrow at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's memorial in Madhopur, he said.
