"For the last one-and-a-half decades, the NBA either on its own or through remote control was busy only in obstructing work on the Maheshwar power project", the SMPHCL said in a statement.
In 2006, when under UPA-I, the promoter got permission for continuing with work on the project, the NBA began opposing the relief and rehabilitation activities and even stopped the door-to-door survey being conducted for the purpose, the release said.
In 2011, the Supreme Court had strongly criticised the NBA for making false statements, SMHPCL said, adding that it filed two review petitions against this.
But the last review petition in this connection was dismissed on May four this year.
The SMHPCL said the NBA had now lost its credibility and hence it was trying to do anything to prevent the Maheshwar project from going further.
