NBCC ends 3% up as Q1 profit soars

Shares of state-owned construction firm NBCC today ended with 3 per cent gains after the company reported a 31.5 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June.

After surging 5.48 per cent to Rs 1,048.80 in intra-day trade on BSE, shares of the company finally ended at Rs 1,023.80 per scrip, up 2.97 per cent.

On NSE, the stock settled with a gain of 3 per cent at Rs 1,027.85.

The company added Rs 354.6 crore to Rs 12,285.60 crore in market capitalisation.

NBCC yesterday reported consolidated net profit of Rs 44.08 crore for the June quarter.
 

Its net profit stood at Rs 33.52 crore in the year-ago period, National Buildings Construction Corporation had said in a filing to BSE.

Total income from operations also rose 37 per cent to Rs 1,149.25 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal, from Rs 840.76 crore in the year-ago period.

NBCC is present in three main segments -- Project Management Consultancy (PMC), real estate and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC contracting).
