The National Buidings Construction Corporation (NBCC), tasked with constructing the Vidhan Bhawan at Gairsain, today made a presentation on the project before Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal.

The presentation was made by NBCC officials after their return from a visit to several hill states in the north and northeast to study the design of Assembly buildings there.

The Assembly building at Gairsain and its wings like hostels for MLAs and officials will be built over an area of 6,66,000 square feet, the NBCC engineers and architects said during their presentation.

Kunjwal directed the NBCC to follow the model of Assembly buildings in other hill states and use unique stones found in Uttarakhand in constructing the building at Gairsain.

Along with the Speaker, the presentation was made before Deputy Speaker Anusuya Prasad Maikhuri and a host of state Assembly officials.

Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna laid the foundation stone of the Assembly building at Gairsain on January 14 this year.
