A city court today held in abeyance non-bailable warrants against the Editor and the Printer-Publisher of one of the leading English dailies in connection with a defamation case filed by the state government.
The Principal Sessions Court issued the NBW against the two persons, asking them to appear before it on July 18. But, following a plea for recall of the NBW, the judge allowed them to file their petitions tomorrow morning and till then the warrants will not be issued.
The case pertains to publication of DMK president M Karunanidhi's remarks against Jayalalithaa early this year.
The court also exempted the 90-year-old DMK leader from personal appearance.
