Opposition Peoples Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir today alleged the ruling National Conference believed in emotional exploitation and personal friendships in Delhi as a license to power.

"The NC has taken power for granted and has perceived itself as a successor to Maharaja (Hari Singh). It believes in emotional exploitation and personal friendships in Delhi as a license to power.

"It always prefers to push dissent beyond the constitutional space so that it can seek an unchallenged mandate for its political and personal ends," PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said.

The PDP leader was addressing a series of meetings in north Kashmir's Bandipora district, a party statement said here.

Mehbooba said the NC was facing the prospect of a rout in upcoming assembly elections in the state because of its "inefficiency, lack of sincerity and political bankruptcy".

"The state government lacks central authority and all its ministers are running their kingdoms in various departments," she said.
