The NC passed a resolution at a meeting requesting the Prime Minister to implement the recommendations of the Working Group set up by him to end political uncertainty in the state, an NC spokesman said in a statement.
Additional General Secretary of NC Sheikh Mustafa Kamal said it would be in the best interests of both the state and Central governments to implement the recommendations of the working group.
He said Prime Minister should show his magnanimity and initiate the process of implementations of the working group.
"The autonomy document has become a legal document now. It has been recommended and passed by state legislature. The document has been endorsed by Justice Sageer also. It's time New Delhi should adopt a path of reaching out to the people by endorsing the demand of the National Conference," he said.
Minister for Rural Development Ali Mohammad Sagar said restoration of autonomy is not only a demand but also a mission of National Conference.
"No party at the Centre and state has made as many sacrifices, as our party has. So when we demand restoration of autonomy, we reflect the genuine aspiration of the people of the state," Sagar said.
