Deploring the provocative overtures of BJP towards the people of Jammu and Kashmir, ruling National Conference today said inclusion of Article 370 in its election manifesto was fraught with endangering the peaceful situation in the state.
"Knowing well that it can't scrap this vital constitutional provision, BJP has made a deliberate mischief to incite passions so as to polarise the situation in the midst of elections," NC provincial president, Devender Singh Rana said at poll meetings in Ramban and Doda districts.
He asserted that the politically sagacious people of the state will not react to their gimmicks as BJP's inherent agenda is not new for them.

"Those misusing religion and nationalism for vote politics can't be sincere to either," he observed.
In its manifesto, BJP said it is committed to abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir, saying if the party came to power, it would hold talks with all stakeholders.
Targetting PDP, Rana cautioned the people against the divisive tendencies of peace-inimical forces, like PDP which has volunteered to be foot-soldiers in disturbing harmony, peace and tranquillity.
He said clandestine understanding between PDP-BJP combine has been made public with the former openly praising divisive Narendra Modi for lust of power.
The NC leader made a fervent appeal to the people to cast their votes in favour of Ghulam Nabi Azad saying this will help carry forward the agenda of development across the state which has been brought about under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
"This agenda is to be pushed through with renewed vigour and sense of commitment," he said.
