The ruling National Conference (NC) in Jammu and Kashmir today restructured its student wing as scores of youth joined the party here.

Hundreds of students from various colleges of the Valley joined the National Conference Students Union (NCSU), the party's student wing that was started last year, a party spokesman said.

The executive body of NCSU was formed with Imran Pandit as its provincial president, he said.

Welcoming the youth, provincial president of the party Nasir Aslam Wani claimed no other party in the state has been able to get such a huge support of the student community.

"You have seen turmoil and that has had an impact on your mind. But now is the time to come out of that mindset and work towards prosperity of the state," he said.

Minister for Higher Education Mohammad Akbar Lone assured the students of all help and support.
