Press Trust of India Jammu
Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said the ruling National Conference had been indulging in deceitful tactics to divert people's attention from its failures in the state.

"The history of NC was full of deceptive acts and this party has always bartered the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for its desire to be in power," PDP leader Yash Pal Sharma said while addressing a series of public meetings at Manyal Gali, Barote and Nerojal areas of Rajouri.

Sharma, who has been selected as the party's candidate from the Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, said a trust deficit has developed between common people and the ruling class due to the deceitful politics of NC.

He said the NC has mastered the art of "telling lies with confidence". With its defeat imminent in the next Assembly polls, the NC is again trying its tactics to remain in power.

"But people understand their gimmicks and they are fed up with them," Sharma said.
