NC workers join PDP

Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said hundreds of ruling National Conference workers joined the party, indicating disillusionment of people with the present dispensation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Hundreds of National Conference workers from Sonawari of the Bandipora districts joined the PDP at a function presided over by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti here, a statement issued by the main opposition party said.

Welcoming them in the party fold, Mehbooba said the idea of change is getting strengthened in the state with large number of people, especially youth, joining PDP.

"Workers joining PDP from the ruling party, is a clear indication of a strong resentment against the present dispensation," she said.
 

She exhorted party workers to channelise people's power to a bring change in the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
