NCB officer caught red-handed while accepting bribe

Arvind Sharma allegedly demanded the "money from a person to settle a case," Superintendent of Police (Vigilance), Mandi, Virender Sharma said.

"On the basis of secret information in this regard, the Special Investigation Team of Vigilance laid a trap and the officer was caught red handed yesterday in his office while accepting bribe," he said.

Sharma was today remanded to three days police custody after being produced in a court at Mandi.

The NCB opened its office in Mandi two years back to check illegal drug trafficking and cultivation of cannabis (charas), especially in the remote Malana area of Kullu district which is notorious for producing high quality charas known popularly as Malana cream.
