NCC orders Court of Inquiry into alleged suicide of driver

"Sunil, driver, a State Government Employee posted at NCC 'A' Group Bangalore has expired at his residence... Being a case of unnatural death, a Court of Inquiry has been ordered to examine all aspects of the case," a Defence release said today.

Sunil allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at his younger sister's residence on April 28. In a suicide note he left behind, Sunil had alleged that harassment by NCC Unit One's Commandant drove him to take the extreme step, police said.

The defence release said "All personnel of NCC share the grief of the bereaved family. All possible assistance under the existing rule is being provided to the family."
