National Chambal Ghariyal Wildlife Sanctuary (NCGWS) has received a fund of Rs 75 lakh for conservation of ghariyals, crocodiles and other wildlife species.
"The money would be spent for construction of check posts and offices. The dedicated workers at these places would identify vulnerable nesting sites of ghariyals, crocodiles and other species and would ensure their protection through fencing and engaging locals in conservation activities," Chief conservator of forest (Kota range) Anrug Bhardwaj said.
NCGWS is a newly constituted wildlife division formed last year in Rajasthan with its headquarters at Swaimadhopur.
The sanctuary stretches for over 400 km.
