Fuming over unparliamentary remarks against Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar by Shiv Sena's Lok Sabha candidate Ravi Gaikwad from Osmanabad, the NCP's Maharashtra unit asked the Uddhav Thackeray-led party here today, to tender an apology.
Expressing its displeasure, the NCP's working president Jitendra Awhad said that the Shiv Sena should tender an apology for the unparliamentary language used by Ravi Gaikwad, who is contesting against NCP's Padamsinh Patil.
"The language used by them is unparliamentary. Shiv Sena should apologise for it. No NCP worker has ever insulted late Shiv Sena patriarch Balasaheb Thackeray," Awhad told reporters.
Last week, during a public meeting in Osmanabad, Gaikwad had made an unparliamentary statement against Pawar.
