According to a complaint by a tempo driver Sajid Sakir Ansari, since 2008 until now, the corporator had been cheating him.
The complaint stated that Shannu had pulled down a chawl in which the complainant lived promising that he would give him an apartment in a building.
He also made an agreement for the same, but did not give him any accommodation in any legal building.
Instead he threatened that he would send him to jail. Allegedly, the accused also gatecrashed into the room where the complainant lived and took away the copy of the agreement.
The police said that an offence has been registered and appropriate action would be taken after a probe.
However, no arrest has been made so far in connection with the offence, the police said.
