NCP's Maharashtra president Sunil Tatkare today recalled the "development works" done by Chhagan Bhujbal, who is in jail in a money laundering case, during his tenure as the PWD Minister of the state.

"NCP chief Sharad Pawar had worked for development of industrial sectors in Mumbai, Pune and Nashik during the rule of Congress-NCP government.

"Our party leader and former PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal also completed many development works in Nashik city as well as district, including (development of) airport, constructing of a fly-over-bridge. He had raised his voice on various issues in the state legislature," Tatkare said at a meeting of NCP office-bearers here.

He also appealed to the party functionaries to be prepared for the forthcoming civic body elections in the state.

Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC), which will also go to polls in the forthcoming civic body elections, is currently ruled by Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.

NCP leaders, including city unit president Jayawant Jadhav and a host of local leaders, were present at the meeting.
