The NCP would be more aggressive on issues of farmers and unemployment in Maharashtra, party's state unit chief Sunil Tatkare said here today.

At a meeting of NCP leaders held here today in presence of party chief Sharad Pawar, it was decided that the party will intensify its agitations on these issues, Tatkare said.

The plan of action for the next three months was chalked out at the meeting. There was a large discrepancy in the quantum of aid sanctioned by the Centre and the amount which farmers actually got, he claimed.

According to Tatkare, a former Maharashtra Minister, as the drinking water issue is expected to assume alarming proportions in the days to come, it was decided that party leaders will tour the affected areas.

It was also decided to allocate district wise responsibility to senior leaders and fill up vacant frontal organisational posts in the party, he added.
