The annual Mind Tree Hellen Keller awards by the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled Persons (NCPEDP) were announced here today in recognition of the exceptional work done by corporates, NGOs and individuals in the sector.
"Corporates, NGOs and individuals who have not only done exceptional work in the sector but have also emerged as a credible way to map the progress being made year by year towards greater dignity and empowerment of India's 70 million disabled citizens have been selected for the award," a statement said.
"Twelve awards have been announced under three different categories-Role model disabled person, Role model supporter of increased employment opportunities for disabled and role model companies, NGOs and institutions," it added.
