Officials said that the Board has asked the Hyderabad- based National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) to carry the study of the entire National Capital Region and report whether the development in all the zones is being carried out in sync with the Regional Plan-2021.

"We have signed up with the NRSC which is a wing of the Indian Space Research Organisation for study which would carry out satellite mapping of the area covering 16 districts and four sub regions," a senior NCRPB official said.

"The study would review from satellite data whether the built up area, the land use pattern, the planning of highways, reserving area for green cover and other development is being carried out in conformity with the NCRPB's regional plan," the official said.

The study would analyse the changes that the urban landscape of the NCR has undergone from 1999 till 2012, he said.

The official said that the data would also be helpful in keeping an eye on whether the states, whose area is included in the NCR region, are following the recommendations of the NCR board.

"We had made recommendations for changes in Greater Noida master plan before our technical committee approved it. These satellite pictures can help us in assessing whether the suggestions have been followed," the official said.

The NCRPB's technical committee had a few days back suggested several changes in the Noida Master Plan 2021 before approving it.
