NCSC submits its annual report to Prez

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) today recommended several measures on Constitutional safeguards of the community as it submitted its Annual Report for 2013-14 to President Pranab Mukherjee.

The Commission also submitted a report on problems being faced by migrant Scheduled Castes community in obtaining caste certificates.

The reports contain various recommendations on the issues entrusted to the Commission regarding Constitutional safeguards of the Scheduled Castes, an official release said.

The Commission has to present to the President annually, and at other times if required, reports on the working on the Constitutional safeguards of the Scheduled Castes, an official release said.
 

The reports may include recommendations for the measures required to be taken by the Union and the States for the effective implementation of those safeguards and other measures for the protection, welfare and socio-economic development of the Scheduled Castes, the release added.

Accordingly, Commission chairman PL Punia, Chairman along with Vice-Chairman Raju Parmar and others submitted these two reports to the President at Rashtrapati Bhawan, the release stated.
