BJP-led NDA was ahead in Bihar Assembly election results, according to the initial trends shown on TV channels.
While some channels showed the saffron alliance almost sweeping the polls, others showed a much closer fight.

On NDTV, NDA was shown to be ahead in 88 seats against 57 trending towards the grand alliance out of a total of 150 seats, projection for which was available out of the 243 seas.
ABP showed the NDA ahead in 75 while the Nitish Kumar-led alliance ahead in 70 seats out of 149.
Trends suggested that the contest has boiled down to BJP-versus JD-U fight, with both parties doing much better than their allies.
Lalu Prasad-led RJD appeared to be suffering heavy losses, according to the initial trends.
Among the NDA allies, Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustan Awam Morcha (Secular) appeared retaining some ground but other allies like Ram Vilas Paswan's LJP and Upendra Kushwaha's RLSP were shown performing poorly.
