NDA delegation calls on Governor on eve of Budget session

A day before the Bihar legislature convenes for Budget session, a delegation of state NDA leaders called on Governor Ram Nath Kovind, urging him to include deteriorating law and order among other issues in his address to the joint sitting of the bicameral legislature tomorrow.

The delegation comprised senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi, HAM (Secular)'s Brishen Patel, Satyanand Sharma of the LJP, besides Lalan Paswan and Sudhanshu Shekhar.

In the memorandum submitted to the Governor, the NDA leaders raised the murder of BJP vice-president Visheshwar Ojha in Bhojpur district, another leader of party Kedar Singh in Saran district and LJP leader Brijnathi Singh in Vaishali district recently.
 

The murder of two construction engineers in Darbhanga district, extortion demands from contractors and murders of traders in different places in Bihar recently also figured in the memorandum.

The NDA leaders also appealed to the Governor to incorporate demand for increase in reservation for OBCs and SC/STs in the panchayat polls to 50 per cent.
