Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot today accused the NDA government of "weakening" MGNREGA, saying the execution of the scheme is poor in BJP-ruled states as per the report of a government-constituted committee.

"A committee set up by the NDA government has clarified that the execution of MGNREGA is poor in BJP ruled states.

"The report says that most of the BJP-ruled states, including Rajasthan and Gujarat, could not provide 100-day employment to even five per cent families," Pilot said in a statement here.

Citing a media report on the Committee's MGNREGA findings, the PCC president claimed that the Vasundhara Raje government in Rajasthan provided 100-day employment to less than five per cent families under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

"The government is biased and has deliberately worked to weaken the scheme," he said.
