The NDA government at the Centre and TRS government in Telangana have been pursuing 'anti-Dalit policies,' state Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged today.

Reddy, who was in Warangalas part of Congress' 'Praja Chaitanya Yatra' (campaign to raise awareness of people), told reporters here that the NDA government delayed filing a review petition in Supreme Court on its judgement on the SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act.

Alleging that the TRS government led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao did not do justice for SCs and STs, the PCC president claimed that the TRS secured votes on the promise of making a Dalit the first Chief Minister of Telangana.

The other promises of TRS, including 12 per cent reservation for STs, three acres of land for poor Dalits, double bedroom houses for the poor and 'one job in each household' remained unfulfilled, Reddy alleged.

The TRS government has diverted funds meant for the welfare of SCs and STs, he alleged, adding that the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) itself has "pointed out the diversion of over Rs 10,000 crore of SC and ST funds by the TRS Government".
