NDDB approves 14 projects for Bihar with outlay of Rs 25.80 cr

The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has sanctioned 14 projects with a total outlay of Rs 25.80 crore for development of dairy sector in Bihar.

These projects have been approved under the National Dairy Plan-1 comprise of four projects for fodder development, six projects for village based milk procurement system (VBMPS) and four projects for ration balancing programme.

"This has been made possible because of special efforts and initiative taken by Union Agriculture Minister, Radha Mohan Singh," an official statement said today.

The projects have been approved under the National Dairy Plan-I (NDP-I), the amount comprises of Rs 25.14 crore as grant assistance and Rs 65.70 lakh as share of End Implementing Agencies(EIAs).
 

Two dairies of Bihar State Milk Cooperative Federation -COMFED in Kosi and Magadh and six milk unions including Baruni Milk Union, Mithila Milk Union, and Tirhut Milk Union among others, are going to benefit from these approvals, the statement added.

The National Dairy Plan-I (NDP-I) was launched during March, 2012 for implementation during 2011-12 to 2016-17 with the objective to increase the productivity of milch animals and thereby increase milk production and to help provide rural milk producers with greater access to the organised milk-processing sector.
